"It's been a very revealing 10 seconds, Harold"
This is a line from Stranger Than Fiction, one of my favorite movies. I just really like this line.

So, if you hadn't noticed, I recently took a trip to Japan with my sister, Mindy. I'll see if I can figure out how to post a few pictures. It was a great trip; nice to get away for a little while. The Japanese people were very friendly and helpful :) We saw a lot of temples and shrines! And of course went to the LDS temple in Tokyo. Ate at a fun little cafe in Kyoto called The Talking Giraffe...loved it! Melon soda at Mos Burger, yum! Beautiful cherry blossoms everywhere. And cucumber sushi, because let's face it, I don't like seafood. Honestly food was the most difficult part of the trip; got tired of the seaweed pretty quickly. Well, that's kind of a short synopsis of the trip...hopefully pics soon :)

30 temples before I'm 30

One of my goals is to attend my 30th LDS temple before I turn 30. When I turned 29 I had been to 25 temples, so that means I have to get to five before the year is over. Well, I'm happy to report that I am well on my way, 3 down, 2 to go...

Temple #26
Draper, UT Temple. Lizzie, Debbie and I went to the (fairly) new Draper temple in February.

Temple #27
Tokyo, Japan Temple. Mindy and I went to the Tokyo temple on April 9th! We went all the way to Japan to go to that temple! Honestly, we kind of did. Totally worth it.

Temple #28
Oquirrh Mt, UT Temple. Went out to the Oquirrh Mt temple on Saturday. What a fabulous view from the grounds! And I love the star shapes in the windows. This was the last temple left in UT that I needed to get to, so now I'll have to venture outside of the state to get my last 2 this year.

Movie update

Movie #10
The Fantastic Mr. Fox; Rating: 7
Chad and I watched this the night before I flew off to Japan. It was pretty cute and funny. Lots of funny lines from silly animals.

Movie #11
Love Happens; Rating: 7
A nice little romance. Pulls at the heart strings a little and reminds us that we're all just human...no one is perfect and love is accepting that fact and working together to move through imperfections. Watched this on the plane ride to Tokyo from Seattle.

Movie #12
Pirate Radio; Rating: 5
Funny, but much filthier than I was hoping it would be. I watched this one on the airplane home from Tokyo, it was edited (a little) and still too filthy.

Movie #13
This is it!; Rating: 7
Also watched this one on the airplane. It was really interesting. It showed a side of Michael Jackson that I don't think the majority of people had ever seen before. And it totally made me want to dance! I might have to take some dance lessons now :)

Movie #14
Sherlock Holmes; Rating: 9
Chad and I saw this at the dollar theater; (I love dollar movies). I really enjoyed this film, more than I had anticipated. It was a lot of fun. It was entertaining and it also really got my mind turning, trying to figure out the mystery myself; definitely enjoyed it :)

Movie #15
The Blind Side; Rating: 9
I really like how the film focuses on Mike's accomplishments and the good hearts of the people who took him in, loved him, and helped him to succeed. There is actually very little focus on the unfortunate circumstances he came from...at least in my opinion. I liked that the focused on the good and it was more looking "forward" than back. Nice, heartwarming story...and it's true.

Movie #16
Did You Hear About the Morgans?; Rating: 7
Funny, entertaining, but maybe a little long.

Restaurant Update

Restaurant #7
Z Pizzeria Cafe; www.zpizzeria.com; Rating:8
Some interesting toppings. Very small dining area. The pizza was tasty and I would eat here again, but probably take out.

Restaurant #8
Koyo;  There is no official website, so here is some info and reviews: http://www.merchantcircle.com/business/Koyo.Restaurant.801-466-7111/review/list; Rating: 7
Good Japanese cuisine. Quiet and good service. I went to this restaurant in preparation for my trip to Japan.

Restaurant #9
Bohemian Brewery; www.bohemianbrewery.com; Rating: 10
Inventive and tasty menu. Had a chicken sandwich with chopped hazelnuts in it, that was a new one for me, and it was sooooo good! Totally recommend it and will go there again. And if you're in to beer, I hear that they brew some tasty stuff. My coworkers and I had a little night out along with a couple of friends, we all had fun here.

Restaurant #10
Donovan's Steak and Chop House; www.donovanssteakhouse.com; Rating: 11!!!
Oh my gosh! There are not words to describe! The service was amazing. The atmosphere was lovely. And the food...the food was FANTASTIC!!! Lizzie, Chase and I had dinner here during the SLC Downtown Dine O Round, so it was a little cheaper than usual; however, this is a very pricey place. I must say though, if you are looking for a nice restaurant to celebrate a special occasion...this is the place!
